On the Saturday June 15th, I went home to celebrate Dad’s 70th birthday. We decided to have a small party at Peter & Julie’s house. So, on Saturday morning, I headed out and met Rob at the Subway and we went straight to the Allison’s house and got there around 12:30. When we got there Julie had already done a lot of the preparations for the party, we just had to a little tidying up, and food and drink preparation.

The party started around 4. When everyone had arrived, we had about 25 guests there to celebrate Dad’s birthday. Now, while it was not a surprise birthday party, we did not tell Dad how many people we had invited. As you can see from the pictures, his brother and all of his sisters were there, as well as some of his friends and nieces and nephews.

For the party, Peter & I cooked some Hamburgers & Hot Dogs and had a wide assortment of salads and desserts inside for people to choose from. During the party Abby & Aiden played with their cousin Morgan who is in grade 9, including a short trip to the park. When it got a little darker, Peter started a bonfire and the kids roasted marshmallows with the help of Jane and myself. Abby was so tired by the end of the night that after going to the washroom around 9, she went to bed all by herself without telling anyone. When I went looking for her in the bathroom, I found her on top of the covers facing the wrong way in the bed half asleep. I helped her put on her PJs and tucked her into bed. The next morning, Abby slept in to almost 8 and Aiden slept in until 9, which ever happens.
After they were in bed, Peter, Rob, Julie & I enjoyed the rest of the night by the fire with a few drinks 😉 The next morning we headed out to Lakefield to see Bruce for Father’s Day.
