Easter 2013

On Easter weekend this year, the kids and I went straight from my work at the end on the day on Thursday. Melissa picked them up early from school and met me at work. This allowed us to get on the road realtively early and beat the traffic and get home in time for supper on Thursday evening. On Friday afternoon we all went to Good Friday services in Douro. After mass, we came back to Mom & Dad’s for dinner. Peter cooked fish on the bbq, it was delicious. I have no pictures from dinner because my battery died in the evening and it was not charged until morning.

On Saturday morning, we got up and went to Shawn & Megan’s for lunch. Julie and Macklan also came along for lunch. Shawn and Megan made a lovely pork tenderloin and vegetables that we all enjoyed. After lunch the kids played dominoes, basically building them up and knocking them over. After that they went for a small Easter Egg hunt for their gifts from Megan & Shawn. Megan made neat gifts that looked like carrots. This kids really like them and ate most of them when they got home at the end of the day.

On the way home we stopped at Uncle Joe’s for a visit. While there the kids chases the chickens and helped to feed the goats. However, the part they most enjoyed was throwing rocks into the pond. It made me remember how much fun I used to have just throwing rocks into the water was. Before we left, Uncle Joe gave wach of them a nice chocolate Easter Bunny.

On Easter morning the kids were up early and ready for the hunt. The Easter bunny had left eggs outside in the yard for the kids to find.

Once they finished finding their eggs, they had a great time opening all the eggs to see what was inside.

On Sunday evening we went for supper and Craig & Jane’s. While there the kids had fund running on Craig & Jane’s deck and also hanging out with their cousin Macklan, who was wearing the same tuxedo that Aiden wore to Peter & Julie’s wedding 2 1/2 years ago.
