While Abby had done a little skating with me last year, this year I signed her up for skating lessons because it was quite difficult to find time to get there without Aiden and it was almost impossible to teach them at the same time. And also, even though I have been skating since I was 5, I found it quite difficult to teach her some of the basics of skating because I had never taught someone to skate before (insert appropriate teacher jokes here).
Anyways on the last Saturday of the Christmas Holidays, Abby started a 10 week skating lesson at the community skating and she had a great time. During her first lesson she spent most of the time on the ice and could not get herself up. However, by the second week Abby could get her self up off the ice and started to slowly move on the ice.
The most important thing for me is that after every lesson Abby has come off the ice and said that she had a fantastic time and can’t wait to get back for the next time and that is all that matters to me.
